Parade Marshall.
Mentor.
Banker.
That’s Angelica.
For Angelica Castillo-Chappel, community is personal.
Born and raised in Mexico, Angelica carries a deep pride in her Hispanic heritage and a strong commitment to keeping that culture alive for future generations.
In Garden City, where many cultures, stories, and traditions come together, she sees that heritage as something to celebrate, share, and protect.
That passion is especially visible through her work as President of the Garden City Mexican Fiesta. To Angelica, the Fiesta is more than an annual celebration. It is a way to bring people together, honor tradition, create belonging, and help families feel proud of who they are and where they come from.
Passionate about Connection
Angelica’s commitment to Garden City reaches far beyond one event. She is involved in many organizations and community efforts, including Garden City Community College, Crime Stoppers, mentorship opportunities, and her weekly radio show, Community Talks with Angelica. She is passionate about helping people as a whole, especially young women entering the workforce and families who may need someone to listen, guide, or simply make them feel welcome.
As someone who is bilingual, Angelica also understands the power of connection. When people can ask questions, share concerns, and feel understood, trust grows. That trust matters in the community, and it matters at the bank.
At Security State Bank, Angelica has found an organization that shares her heart for service. The bank does not just encourage employees to care about the community; it makes space for them to show up, serve, build relationships, and go above and beyond.
For Angelica, that support makes all the difference. Her work at Security State and her work in the community are deeply connected. She is not just a bank employee. She is a mother, grandmother, business owner, volunteer, mentor, and neighbor.
Rooted in Heritage. Driven by Community.
